13th December 2014 - The Tree Lighting concert was a real community affair. Stronsay's Silver Darlings started off with a couple of Scottish sets, then we were joined by Bruce Fletcher on the piano and the audience sang Carols. We finished with a rousing rendition of Campbell's Farewell to Redcastle & The Barren Rocks of Aden. This was followed by David on the piano with some of the Stronsay Singers singing Carols; Ingram Shearer, Leah Shearer and Mike Holland playing a selection of tunes and finally Sarah and the school children on the bells and singing Carols. A wonderful supper of sandwiches, pizza, mince pies and mulled wine followed to round off a really great evening.
